Tyres Explained
Tyre Size:
The tyre size is made up of 3 measurements, the width, the profile and the diameter. The diameter must match the diameter of the wheel, and all cars have a recommended tyre size when upgrading from your original wheels to new aftermarket alloy wheels. So if you are changing from smaller wheels to larger, or larger wheels to smaller, there is a conversion to calculate the correct tyre size that your vehicle should be running.
Unlike competitor sites, rimstyle.com automatically selects the correct tyre size for your car and incorporates it into the price, so you have no added costs after you place your order and you know the package will be perfectly safe and correct for your model of car.
The tyres we supply...
As wheel and tyre specialists, all of our packages come with performance tyres fitted as standard. The grip of a tyre is mainly down to the rubber compound and the tread pattern (grooves in the tyre), this is why all of our tyres as standard are performance directional tread tyres, made from high quality rubber. The tyre surface in direct contact with the road is where the grip comes from, and in the wet the tread grooves disperse the water to maintain contact with the road and therefore grip, not only making our tyres better than most of the tyres cars leave the factories with as standard, but they give you another great reason to buy a new wheel and tyre package for your car, and offer excellent performance all year round in all conditions! All of our performance tyres offer low rolling resistance too, a low rolling resistance means a significant difference to fuel bills and money saved over time!

Tyre sidewall markings explained...
The size of a tyre is marked on the side tyre wall. It is always shown as width, profile, and then diameter.
For example a 205/40R17 tyre means:
205 = The width of the tyre in mm
40 = The sidewall height in relation to the tyre width shown as a percentage (So the height is 40% of 205mm)
17 = The tyre diameter (this must equal the alloy wheel diameter)
