If your vehicle features particularly large big calipers then you need to be very careful which wheels you attempt to fit. Due to the enlarged size of the caliper it will limit the amount of space available for the wheel, so the wheel needs to have ample spoke and barrel clearance.

A lot of performance brake manufacturers offer caliper templates that can be downloaded, printed to scale, then tested in the back of a wheel to check for clearances. Generally speaking any wheel where the spokes are concave or dished will have limited brake clearance as the wheel manufacturers have the spokes intruding on the space where the caliper will position.
